Michael "Mike" Wepryk, a beloved figure from Tomahawk, embarked on his final journey on April 4, 2025, at the Drayton Valley Hospital, leaving behind a legacy etched in the hearts of those who knew him. Born on the farm in Tomahawk, June 5, 1935, Mike lived a life of warmth and connection, radiating kindness and laughter that drew countless friends into his sphere.
Though Mike did not have children of his own, his heart was an expansive canvas filled with love for his nephews and nieces, who became the pride and joy of his life. Every moment spent with them was a treasured memory, and in their laughter and stories, he found immense joy and fulfillment. His sister, Polly Sklany, remains a cherished companion, a bond strengthened through shared memories and unwavering support.
Mike's journey was interwoven with the presence of his dear friends, including Lois Litwyn, whose companionship enriched his life with kindness and understanding. Together they created a tapestry of friendship that became a cornerstone of his later years.
Mike was always mindful of those who had departed before him. He carried within him the echoes of his beloved parents, John and Donia Wepryk, and the enduring love for his siblings: brother Steve Wepryk, and sisters Elsie Jahner, Mary Walker, and Olga Miller. They shaped his life’s foundation, and their memories lingered, infusing his days with a profound appreciation for family.
As the sun sets on this remarkable life, we remember Mike not only for his kind spirit but for the love he shared so freely. The loss is immense, but the footprints he left on our hearts will forever inspire us to carry his light forward.
The family would like to express their special thanks to the Drayton Valley Hospital staff for their care & compassion.
