James Kerschbaum, beloved husband of Elizabeth Kerschbaum, passed away on Friday, July 14th, 2023 at the age of 62.
Along with his loving wife of 32 years, James leaves behind his boys, Chandler(Jessica), Bradley, and Adrian; his girls, Amanda, Emma, and Diana; his grandchildren, Isaac, Gemma, Thomas, Allison, and Charlie; his mother Barb; his sister, Rita (Ron), and brother, Wayne. He will also be missed by the many great friends he has made.
James was born in Bow Island, AB. He lived in the Faith, AB area until grade 1. His family moved to Bow Island in 1968. He graduated St. Michael's Catholic School in 1978. James attended SAIT from 1979-1981 in the Petroleum Technology program. After some experience in the oil patch, he went on to get his degree in Petroleum Engineering in Butte, Montana 1983-1986. He worked for various Oil companies throughout Alberta in different capacities till May of this year.
In 1990 he met and married Elizabeth whom he loved until the end. Besides two stepchildren, they had four children whom they raised to be independent and strong individuals.
James was always an outdoors-man. Camping and fishing occupied his summers over the years, as well as ice fishing in the winter. During the last years of his life, his boat was his hobby, constantly making improvements for the next trip. He always looked forward to the fall and his hunting trips with his friends.
James was an incredible person with deep kindness and good sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by his wife and children, extended family and many friends. James’s warm and loving spirit will not be forgotten.
The Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 20th, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the St. Agnes Catholic Parish, 4811 49 Avenue, Mayerthorpe, AB. Reception will follow at Anselmo Community Hall.
