George Williams

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George Frances Williams, 93, on October 26, 2024, in Drayton Valley Long Term Care.

George was born in Wanagameesh, Newfoundland and moved to Ontario where he met and married Mary. His wife, Mary and their two young children; Anita and Terrance were killed in a tragic automobile accident in Toronto. George moved to Alberta for a new start in life, working on the drilling rigs in the Drayton Valley area.

He lived and worked in the Edmonton area for many years, employed as a long haul trucker until his retirement. He relocated to Drayton Valley, living contently at Seasons Retirement Community then transferred to Tofield Continuing Care for specialized care for a short while, returning to Drayton Valley for Extended Care.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service for George will take place at St. Anthony's Catholic Church on November 12, 2024 at 7:00 PM.
