Frederick Liggett, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on March 26, 2025, in Breton, Alberta, leaving behind a legacy woven with love, laughter, and an unyielding spirit of joy. Born on August 13, 1948, Frederick was a man who carried a jovial essence, an infectious laughter that seemed to ripple through the lives of everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.
Throughout his life, Frederick dedicated himself to a career as a truck driver and heavy-duty mechanic, roles that matched his affinity for hard work and the thrill of the open road. He was not merely a craftsman of machines but a skilled navigator of journeys, both literal and metaphorical. His commitment to his work stood as a testament to his unwavering spirit, one defined by perseverance and an enthusiasm for every challenge thrown his way.
Beyond his career, Frederick was a founding member of the Duncan Flying Club, a proud accomplishment that showcased his love for adventure and the skies above. This passion reflected not just a love of aviation but an indomitable desire to connect with others who shared his dreams of soaring, creating bonds that would last a lifetime.
Frederick’s life was brightly adorned with the love of his family. He is survived by his beloved spouse, Louisette Liggett, who stood by him through every bump and turn of the road. He leaves behind his children: John (Katya), Paul (Karen), Frederick (Jessica), Marie, Andree, and Dan (Kelly), who carry forth the vibrant spirit he nurtured within them. Their laughter, echoing the joviality he cherished, will ensure that his legacy of joy lives on.
As a grandfather, Frederick’s vibrant spirit found new life in the hearts of his grandchildren: Duncan (Leah), Alya (Rory), Valeria (Knen), Mariano, Damon, Rebecca, Bryanna, Braeden, Ella, and Elise. Each grandchild became a source of immense pride and joy, his love for them igniting endless adventures and warm memories bound together in family gatherings filled with hearty laughter and gentle teasing.
In the quiet moments, one might pause to remember the legacy of Frederick Liggett, not only in the hearts of his loved ones but also in the resounding laughter he fostered and the smiles he inspired. He now joins those who departed before him, including his parents, Alexander and Doris Liggett, and loved ones Brian, Pat (Sham Mahon), and son Sean, weaving his joyous spirit into the fabric of eternity.
As we reflect on the life of Frederick Liggett, we celebrate a man whose heart held the capacity to love profoundly, and whose laughter will echo in the memories of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His journey may have come to a close, but in our hearts and in our laughter, he will forever soar high above the clouds.
