We are saddened to announce that Everett Miller, passed away on February 3, 2023, at the age of 90 years. Everett was a long term resident of Alder Flats and loved to play crib. He taught all his children and grandchildren to play and was still winning in his last days. He spent most of his life working in the lumber industry and he died peacefully surrounded by family at the Drayton Valley Hospital.
Everett is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy, and their six children, Julie (Terry) Hansen, Jenny Freeman, Janet (Jamie) Capaniuk, Lindsey Miller, Barry (Richelle) Miller, Sonya (Ryan) Josue. He will also be missed by sixteen grandchildren, Benjie, Chad, Christopher, Andrew, Ronnie, Corey, Sean, Scott, Nicole, Trista, Rylan, Rebecca, Kelsey, Taylor, Kamryn, Lorin, and fifteen great grand children, Brittney, Delainey, Walker, Terence, Ashton, Brooke, Kade, Alaina, Jagger, Adilynn, Charlee, Dmytro, Everett, Callum, Zander and his sister Eileen (Anson) Boyle.
Everett is predeceased by his parents, Helena and Rupert Miller, and siblings, Leigh (Marj) Miller, Roy (Rose) Miller, Greta (Peter) Fournier, Melvin Miller, Alex Miller, Audrey Hoggart and daughter in law, Monica.
The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Murphy and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Drayton Valley Hospital for the exceptional care that Everett received.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 1:00 PM at the Alder Flats Community Hall.
