Erhard Norbert Berger

Erhard Norbert Berger, a devoted family man and music enthusiast, passed away on October 2, 2024, at the Drayton Valley Hospital & Care Centre, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on June 2, 1951, in Bergen, Germany, Erhard made a lasting impact on those who knew him through his dedication to both his career and his family.

After marrying Karen, the newlyweds made their home in St. Albert.  However, after frequent trips to the Buck Lake area, they developed an appreciation for rural life and relocated to Buck Lake to settle and raise their family.  Erhard dedicated many years of his life working as an electrician, known for his hard work and commitment to excellence before retiring. He was especially proud of his work as part of the crew that completed the Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton. His professional journey was marked by a strong work ethic, but his true pride emanated from his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Karen Berger, and their two children, daughter Lisa (Neil) Glazebrook and son Lee (Hayley) Berger. Erhard cherished his grandchildren, Torin Glazebrook and Anna Berger, who brought immense joy to his life.

In addition to his immediate family, Erhard is survived by his siblings Hans Berger, Annelies Grant, Christine Berger, Monica Berger, and George Berger. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Monika Berger, and his sister, Sabina Sime.

Beyond his professional life, Erhard had a profound love for music and enjoyed playing the guitar. His passion for melodies resonated with all who were fortunate to experience his talent and enthusiasm.

A "Come & Go" Celebration honoring Erhard's life will be held on October 10, 2024, at 3:00 PM, at Drayton Memorial Cremation & Funeral Services in Drayton Valley. The Celebration of his Life will continue until 5:00 PM, providing family and friends the opportunity to pay their respects and share fond memories.
